Jacques Vallee is a revered figure in the history of ufology. As I wrote on my FAQ page, I appreciate his willingness to articulate the sinister nature of the UFO underworld. I also appreciate his investigative research. However, Jason Colavito has demonstrated Vallee’s propensity to read far too much into ancient texts, thereby contriving aliens in those texts when they really aren’t there. Jason feels some of this is deliberate and some of it is careless. I’m sure of the latter, since, like most UFO researchers, Vallee had zero credentials or background in interpreting these sorts of texts in context. I’m not sure about the former, but I have a high regard for Jason’s work and so I’ll let readers decide.
