Kind of cool if it turns out to have validity. The idea is that the lines have something to do with marking underground water sources, like wells. Note that no alien help would be needed for this, either. Here’s what’s needed: (1) knowledge that there is water / a well / a stream under your feet; (2) the notion that “hey, we should mark where this is”; and (3) adding an artistic flair to the markings — and devising a way so that one points to another.
At some point I need to post on the Nazca lines. Very interesting and often-studied item.
~
My word, your Babbling just gets wilder and wilder.
How about the minor fact that there is no rhyme or reason to the Nazca lines for anyone standing on the ground?
They only form a coherent set of images to someone that is observing them from thousands of feet in the air?
Can you say “airplane”, or some other form of flying machine?
Tsk, Tsk, Tsk, you really need to have the mental blockages in your head cleaned out so that some semblance of logical reasoning can seep into that knot of protoplasm weighing down the top of your spinal column.
If for no other reason, in case that logical reasoning is impossible for you, that at least you can store peanuts in your skull so that you don’t starve come winter.
Scientists are all in full agreement that if, under a given set of circumstances, some process has happened on the earth, that under the same set of circumstances the same process will happen everywhere else in the Universe under the same set of circumstances. i.e.; That if life evolved on earth, life will have evolved all over the Universe, on Trillions times a Trillion times a Trillion other planets.
And since the Solar System is a 3rd generation Star System, the laws of probability dictate that many of those other evolutions, if not most of those evolutions, occured ahead of planet earth.
Can you say: And they built Starships a Million or a Billion years ago, and went exploring the Universe, and guess what? Some of them have dropped into this Solar System one or more times in the past.
Come on, get real. I know it hurts your ego, but just man-up and try to follow the overwhelming evidence that extraterrestrial civilizations not only exist, but have dropped into the Solar System in the past, back when your ancestors were still peeling bananas with their feet.

can you produce ONE piece of hard science that ETs exist? If so, I’ll gladly post it. And you might want to let the rest of the world know it, or maybe just NASA. Until you pony up with that, it’s all just blather.
Certainly this doesn’t seem beyond the realms of possibility; although as with all of these sorts of landscape studies it would be good to see some of the stats for the incidences of geoglyphs and potable water sources. The number of times a trend is identified in the landscape that turns out to be based on perhaps one or two instances and then extrapolated, ignoring all instances where it doesn’t happen, is really annoying (sorry GIS geek).
I’m more worried by the implications of the first paragraph. Are these threatened by development?
they may be, but I’d be very shocked if anything happened.
Bjimmer Bell.
‘Scientists are all in full agreement that if, under a given set of circumstances, some process has happened on the earth, that under the same set of circumstances the same process will happen everywhere else in the Universe under the same set of circumstances.’
That is not true, what they will concede is that there is a high likelihood of that happening. However, given that we have only the Earth to go on, it is a problematic assumption. Life seems to have appeared very early in the life history of Earth, under some pretty extreme circumstances, which would point to it being common but it is still just an educated guess.
‘That if life evolved on earth, life will have evolved all over the Universe, on Trillions times a Trillion times a Trillion other planets.’
Again, on the assumptions of that guess, quite likely. However, what many people making that inference is that life does not equate to sentient life and it sure as hell doesn’t equate to civilisation building life. In order to have those circumstances a set of highly, highly unlikely circumstance need to occur (large moon to ameliorate orbital wobbles, just the right amount of environmental selection pressure, not too little that we end up in stagnation not too much as to kill it off in one go).
I’d be prepared to concede that even these circumstances appear often enough for sentient life to be common. However, civilisations is a whole ‘nother deal.
We don’t even really understand the process of this happening on Earth, let alone anywhere else. You probably need a highly social sentient creature, with the ability to understand symbols, manipulate objects to a great degree and then have them for whatever reason, become sedentary and then built states. Like I say, this is not well understood (and I admit this as an evolutionary anthropologist cum palaeolithic archaeologist)
Maybe there are a few instances where this has happened. Okay, perhaps.
Still I have no way of inferring from that, parsimoniously, that there are visitations and influences on human civilisation as there is no direct non anecdotal evidence. With all that said and invoking the dictum of the simplest explanation, these are not influenced by anything other than the people themselves.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence I am afraid and you don’t have it.
‘but have dropped into the Solar System in the past, back when your ancestors were still peeling bananas with their feet.’
Yeah, that statement pretty much sums up how much you know about archaeology. I need say no more.
MSH
Well they are a world heritage site so I would be surprised too.
What these alien types like our friend Bjimmer cannot grasp is sometimes humans do really odd things.
After all, there is plenty of cave art that is (and would have been at the time), really hard to get at and hardly aimed at public consumption. Their type assume art in the past is much like art in the western tradition, i.e made for everyone to look at and marvel over.
