Here’s an interesting recent piece on the ongoing research at Easter Island. Turns out (and this really isn’t that new) that there’s a lot more to the “heads” of Easter Island. The figurines have long torsos and petroglyphs.
They also provide evidence on how they were erected. Hint: no aliens needed.
I’ll buy that but I still think the Pascuans were having visions of H. P. Lovecraft’s coming.
