I just came across my lecture from the 2003 God, Man, and ET Conference on YouTube. The event was hosted at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. I participated in the planning of the event. Aside from myself, the speakers were Dr. Hugh Ross, Dr. Paul Nelson, Richard Hoagland, and the late David Flynn.Cheryl Jones was MC and my good friend and former teaching colleague Doug Vardell served as moderator.
I had no idea it was on YouTube. You can watch it below (be patient, it takes 8-9 minutes to actually get to the lecture, and the whole thing is one hour and twenty minutes long).
I also found the panel discussion from the event (also over an hour long). Enjoy!
MH I credit you and Gerald Schroeder, and my university professors, and the arguments of the ‘other side’ [neo-darwinists] for my conviction that some form of [terribly monikered] ‘trans-spermia’ is the ONLY way we get the bio-life-forms we have. Even the most generous fact-based estimates of the age of the U renders insufficient time for the neo-D plan to produce anything close to the complexity/diversity we have. A mistake ‘creationist’ apologists make over and over is to leap to the conclusion of “which deity” or “which/what ‘thing'” may have planted life-forms. that’s a downstream argument that is actually not relevant at all to the question of origins. The question/response is how to bail out the neo-Darwinist “science” and give another model that at least has the remote possibility of generating the complex bio-forms we observe. once the battle over “plan” or coding or schema has been won we can get on to who or what from whence may have been involved.
This was probably my favorite conference ever!
Met you and D.(your wife), Dave and Richard…what a day!
I’m also shooting some people from Dave and Mark’s forum this way…
Watch out for earthquakes.
LOL!
I’m really wondering did Hoagland by Dr. Ross his high priced dinner in L.A.? His rhetorical, circular logic, ad hominem and the appeal to emotion was disappointing in my opinion. This is what happens when someone wants their belief system and world view to be so true that they look at a low res blurry picture, match it up with some belief as evidence and the next thing you know we have aliens living on Mars… Hoagland claims to be a scientist yet offers as evidence ONE or TWO examples of experiments that HAVE NOT be reproduced by others based on what he claims DePalma did. You don’t just have one scientist perform the experiment but a LOT and they have to publish their results and data so others can reproduce and get the same results or not and explain why or why not. Where is his scientific method at? It has to be a good hypothesis with a good experiment that is REPEATABLE that creates data that either supports it or does not support it. Period. Yes, very disappointed in Hoagland. 🙁
You know, I don’t know if that ever happened!
It must happen! Hoagland has to be held accountable! 😉
