Thanks to Mr. Molina for this convenient suggestion. I don’t have to do much work here to start this off, and maybe this post will be all the farther this goes.
A friend of mine, Dr. Bob Chisholm from Dallas Seminary, wrote a paper for a regional ETS meeting on this topic. Here is the paper — it’s a tricky (and so worthwhile) subject. I’d love to hear your thoughts. I think he does a good job. I also think I may have posted this paper earlier in some other context, but here it is for discussion.
Ok, so far this is a great paper and though I do understand the gist of it I was wondering if you could offer your take, or a nice paraphrase for us the non-phd folk, about the difference or definition of Dynamic Predictive Discourse (DPD) and Expository Hortatory Discourse (EHD)…if I were to say it right now in my own words it would be something like “DPD is the foretold plan of God which may or may not be contingent on the EHD which is the description of the audience’s spiritual state and their call to reform”. Am I close?
@Jonnathan Molina: I think that sufficiently distills it.
