I can’t possibly thank you enough for doing this series on Leviticus!!! It really hit me how much better we have it post-Cross.
When it really sunk in that in the OT there was no remedy for purposeful sins, but that the Work of The Christ covers EVERYTHING–absolutely no exclusions, I LITERALLY–no exaggeration, dropped to my knees, got a bit teary, and worshiped like I never have before.
In fact, I’m getting a bit teary as I write this now. And I am NOT a charismatic. I was raised in Mid-Acts Dispensationalism, so emotion wasn’t really something that was even considered appropriate.
I am no longer a Dispensationalist after going through all your work the past couple years.
Your series on Leviticus has magnified the Work of The Christ and what it means–it made it pop out like the analogy you use frequently: standard TV vs HD TV.
It made me realize how magnificent and unrivaled Christ’s Work truly is.
May the Most High God and his glorious Son bless you with spiritual and physical rewards beyond the capacity for the human mind to imagine or conceive.
Please continue this work. You have changed my life forever.
Saying thank you just isn’t enough. Only an infinite being could possibly even begin to express the depth of gratitude that I feel towards you and your work.
May the Most High God bless you as He blessed Enoch and Elijah.

Dr. Heiser,
Thank you so much for your podcast teachings and your two new books. I have recently been able to finally share the Bible with my daughter because of your work. She, like many teens, lives in the world of Tolkien, “Supernatural”, “Dr. Who”, etc., and the church has little or no place.
After she and I watched the new televsion episode of “Supernatural” last night, we talked about how it compared with the Bible. Then this morning we listened to a reading of the book of Amos and I shared how Divine Council and the book of Acts interfaced with it. I made all these connections because of you.
On this current podcast you said that your new book “gives you all these connection points,” “has broad appeal,” and “is applicable anywhere.” If anyone reading this has teenagers like mine, be encouraged: they can be reached!

Tell her I love that stuff, too (though I’ve not seen Dr. Who — so many teens talk about it; I suppose I need to get into that).

Dr. Heiser,
Ever since you told your readers about JSTOR’s free but limited use, I have been enjoying free access to scholarly articles about the Bible. Today I stumbled across an article that ties in with the linen undergarments you talked about in Leviticus 6: “Paul’s Argument from Nature for the Veil in 1 Corinthians 11:13-15: A Testicle Instead of a Head Covering” by Troy W. Martin. If anyone wants to try the free JSTOR.org, check out this well-written and very funny article. (Martin argues that people in Paul’s culture viewed women’s hair as genetalia.)
P.S. My daughter wants to know how it’s possible NOT to have seen a “Doctor Who” episode! If you want to watch such stuff, I recommend Benedict Cumberbatch as SHERLOCK over Doctor Who.

We are huge Sherlock fans. The Martin article is one of the three I mentioned (without names) on the last Q & A podcast. It’s fascinating. I think he’s right (I’ve corresponded with him in email about the “because of the angels” line connected with the “head covering” being a link back to Gen 6/ sin of the watchers).

Great that your explaining how the old world worked(with sacrificial food). Sad that you have to explain it.
