After listening to this podcast I am reminded of Matthew 24:37 – “As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.” I know there are preachers who use this verse to mix eschatology with alien conspiracy theories but, the way I understand it, the verse hints that the watchers who were not punished will be the ones responsible for the final corruption of mankind.

Interesting stuff, as always. I have a question re manuscripts of the Enochi an books. I believe fragments of 1 Enoch were found among the dead sea scrolls (Correct me if I am wrong here). But what about 2 Enoch? What is the evidence of its antiquity? Thanks.

Correct. There were several Aramaic fragments of 1 Enoch found at Qumran. That textual evidence dates to the 2nd century BC. No one believes those are the originals, and so the book is usually dated to a century earlier (they give it a century’s benefit of the doubt).
