Dan McClellan has posted several recent pieces on the Jordanian lead codices that are highly recommended. Other than his collection of photos (very cool), he focuses on analysis. For insights into the fabrication of the artistic work on the codices, this analysis is a must read. On the lettering, this demonstration of forgery is short but important. For those who know Hebrew (and some training in the paleo-alphabet helps), McClellan also posted this treatment of the “texts” on the codices (basically a lot of gibberish on them). And finally, here’s a description containing note of some suspicious incongruities on some of the codices pictures on Facebook.

I think there was a guest on Coast to Coast recently who was arguing that these were indeed real. I wasn’t really paying much attention, though, and don’t know who it was. I know late-night talk shows are where most reliable scholars go to get their ideas out. Heh.

Unfortunately, they reach a wider audience that way. The only real science that they hear is in the context of ridicule – e.g. “they have something to hide!”

has any one actually contacted Mr Andrews or indeed Ilan Shibli– the fact is some of the books are real- and in due course all will be revealed
FYI David Elkington was paid by the Bedouins to photograph the books- sent over there by Nick Fielding- he played the ” dumb” card and now later is showing up
The bedouins also paid for all the initial research and were even fobbed off by the british library for being well bedouins– they even took the books to the louvre
NO one was interested except the likes of elkington who wanted to make buck off story ! but if the actual real discoverers were asked they would tell the story and make all books public. of course there are now fakes but back to basics no secret and no mystery- just some folks can not believe the truth when its in their face– classical biblical judas denial– but if you want to know the truth– go to the real source– and then you can blog to your hearts content!
