The Evangelical Textual Criticism blog has posted a video interview with Dan Wallace in regard to Wallace’s surprise announcement months ago during his debate with Bart Ehrman, that very early material of the gospel of Mark had been discovered. Wallace, as some of you may already know, spends his summers traversing the ancient world searching for and photographing NT manuscripts that are not known to the academic community.
Hope he’s right on the dating. All would be close to records. I read where these fragments were found in Egypt earlier.

Seeing what they’re doing regarding digital photographing of all the manuscripts is exciting and very cool, especially if it means that many others (students, lay people, etc.) can get a better idea of what is involved in the history of Scripture and its transmission. Opens the door for more learning.
An earlier fragment of Mark is icing on the cake, as well.
