Zondervan has announced a “Share, Not Shred” program designed to put used Bibles and other Christian books in the hands of people in Third World countries.
“Zondervan has announced plans to donate 40 pallets of gently used Bibles and books to World Vision and Biblica for distribution in Uganda, Zambia, Costa Rica, Chile, El Savador and India. Through these donations, Zondervan hopes to promote Christianity and get books into the hands of those who really need them. This will bring the total number of pallets donated since July 2010 to 89, a retail value of $1.63 million dollars.”
Seems like a very worthwhile effort in which to participate. The link describes ways to contribute to the effort.
pristine idea. wish I had thought of it
Unfortunatelly, once the books arrive they willl be sold very expensive, unless an american missionary starts donate them in a book fair or the streets
I have been doing this on my own now for some time. I love putting used and homeless Bibles back to work.
Currently I have a GREAT need in Africa. Will you be willing to meet this need or help me do so?
Pastor Tony
