I just returned from a speaking engagement. I read Nick’s book on the plane. I have mixed feelings about it (not because of Nick, but because of the content that he reports). I have to say it has prompted me to conclude that I need to sit down and write a lengthy review — a review that will, in many ways, reveal some of the plot threads to my Facade sequel. I have two overdue writing commitments to take care of first, though, so I expect to start in on this review in the first week of November.
I look forward to this book review. The evidence presented seems pretty shaky; this doesn’t make it wrong. It’s easy too spin theories around intelligence agencies, secret societies, and other poorly understood things. Combinations of these make for interesting readings, but hardly “actionable”. Hardly the author’s fault (he tracked down what was out there!), and he tells a good story!
I also look forward to the other things your post hints at!
agreed; the other problems I have with it relate to the demonology it articulates and the simplistic portrayals of theological ideas apparently held within the Collins Elite. If they are what the book says they are, such simplistic thinking on their part is scary.
I encourage a review if you can make the time. The various brief reviews I’ve seen around the web are inadequate and also make this book seem really out there. I enjoyed _Contactees_ but I don’t want to waste time and money on a hearsay-based conspiracy-theory rehash.
Hi Guys
The comment made by Mike (comment number 3) is highly valid, because it does indeed demonstrate the very black-and-white, simplistic approach and direction the Collins Elite took, and it also demonstrates a remolding of certain aspects of Christianity, and a weird reinterpretation and usage of both Old Testament and New Testamanent issues. Of course, this may be (and, granted, I’m speculating here) due to the fact that these are guys in the Intelligence world whose use of Christianity today seems to have less to do with teaching accepted Christianity, and more to do with using it as a tool of fear to control the populace – so it’s perhaps not surprisng we might see deliberate alterations and new ideas (and even memes) created to support their goals.
agreed; I’m suspicious of the whole approach. I should be able to get to this [a full review] sometime in the first two weeks of November.
I’m hoping you finish The Myth before you do anything else, have been waiting a looong time for its last two chapters!
:>
I know.
Fantastic site you have here but I was curious about if you knew of any message boards that cover the same topics discussed here? I’d really like to be a part of online community where I can get feed-back from other knowledgeable individuals that share the same interest. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. Appreciate it!
