Robert Schaeffer’s recent post on the Hill case is worth a close read: Dr. Simon Reveals his Real Thoughts on the Hill “UFO Abduction” Case. In the post Schaeffer provides new documentation as to the inconsistencies of the Hill testimony, including evidence that the “craft” Betty Hill drew as part of her story was actually Jupiter.
I’m a sucker for the comments on this sort of thing.
I guess I get a weird pleasure out of people rabidly defending a position that can’t possibly exist. I blame the internet. And socialism. And aardvarks.
When you say “Betty and Barney” I hear Flinstones music. Fred is steppin’ out for a Brontoburger… it stops my heart from feeling that peculiar anguish for the thousand people being drug through the psychological broken glass this stuff engenders.
Thanks/Best.
loved the Flintstones reference!

Did you see new The X-Files last night?!
I’ve seen them both. I just posted my thoughts to another commenter. Here they are:

I didn’t really like the first one (it was “okay”). I think it was misguided in several ways. The second one was much better; more faithful to the original feel of the series. I’m optimistic since (I think I mentioned this somewhere) I had lunch with R. W. Goodwin, one of the directors in the first five seasons (the best of the show in my view). He lives in the town where I work, and directed some of my favorite episodes. It was a treat to meet him (his wife plays Scully’s mom — hope I can meet her as well at some point). He obviously didn’t reveal any of the script content, but noted they were written by some of his favorite writers during his tenure with the show. So I’m optimistic.
It was a little funny how 2/3 of the topics in Mulder’s dialog in the second episode (about “what’s going on”) was covered in The Portent, my sequel to The Facade. I’ve had people email me about that.
I was taken back by the hangered alien tech’ ship. I wish the show were more Vallee/Keel influenced than Hynek.
I don’t really care for the times when Christians engage in the same activities that non-believers use on us almost daily. What is this you ask? It is called swinging at the “low hanging fruit” WAY out of context. Mr. Dawkins likes to pick on what the Israelites did in the land of Canaan, calling it “genocide”. The Betty and Barney Hill(oh wow that is really funny-music is starting-Yabba Dabba-oh stop it)case is used above and forgets to mention the fact that while being a liberal leftist, she did manage to accurately draw a star system that wouldn’t be seen from earth based telescopes for several more years. To be clear, I do not think for one pico-second that she encountered “aliens” from far away. These entities are demonic and are here only to sow the seeds of mans destruction. I’ve also seen the same tactics used against L A Marzulli( without the Hanna-Barbera reference-still laughing). Oh, on a unrelated note, I’ve talked a few of my Christian friends(a tad steeped in tradition) into reading “Unseen Realm” and their minds are blown. Have a great day.(Wilmaaaaaaa)
