I thought this would be of interest to many of you given the inspiration and inerrancy discussion. Kenton Sparks of Eastern  recently authored a book entitled, God’s Word in Human Words: An Evangelical Appropriation of Critical Biblical Scholarship. It is illustrative of the growing dissatisfaction (shared by me) of the way evangelicals have skirted tough issues with respect to what one actually finds in the biblical text, and the need to formulate what we say about Scripture in the context of ful awareness and honesty of those issues. I haven’t read the book yet, so I don’t know if I agree or disagree with Sparks (or this reviewer). Nevertheless, this review was posted today on the SBL book review site.
